This large, handcrafted vessel in a matte cream. It is designed for practical use, is food safe, and sturdy enough for everyday use, but should be treated with care. The inside is glazed, allowing it to hold water; however, due to the semi-porous nature of the stoneware, you may notice some sweating or condensation on the bottom of the piece.
Approximately: 2.75" tall " x 9.5" wide
OATMEAL is the studio practice of Elise Birnbaum. Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, OATMEAL was an idea birthed from a meeting between friends to eat oatmeal and talk about making things. Elise’s current body of work draws inspiration from gardens in the Japanese countryside and focuses on sculptural, biomorphic shapes and vessels that are found in nature. Elise’s work continues to evolve, taking influence from human form and brutalist architecture.
