Katherine Moes

Katherine Moes' greatest inspiration is the natural world. As a life long student of nature both in and out of the classroom, she has been fascinated by the raw beauty of the natural world. She is drawn to tones found near the earth, redsands, stony beaches, and mossy mountains. Exploring soft curves and undulating patterns gives her ample space to play with a variety of silhouettes. The process of building her pieces brings her to a place of creative flow and deep joy. It is this flow and joy along with her adoration of nature that she hopes to evoke in the work she makes. 

If she's; not working with clay in the studio she's getting my hands dirty in the garden, taking long walks, or reading about mystics and myths.  All of her work is lovingly made in Clay County, Missouri.
