With inspiration drawn heavily from the California coast, each piece of J. Dubois' recent collection is a homage to the magic of its landscape. Embracing and honoring the natural, each piece is unique to itself, much like the rocks and landscapes of the western coastline. The Yucca Dish was initially designed as a centerpiece for a long table. Meant for dry foods or goods, this unglazed serving tray has exterior texture and seam detail and is finished in an opaque white slip.
Approximately 17.5" long
Jessie DuBois’ work explores the ephemeral nature of a landscape. Through texture, layers of slip, embracing kiln atmosphere, and the use of locally foraged wild clays, plant material, and wildfire ash, it is intended to honor and preserve a terrain which is ever shifting.
