With inspiration drawn heavily from the California coast, each piece of J. Dubois' recent collection is a homage to the magic of its landscape. Embracing and honoring the natural, each piece is unique to itself, much like west coast shoreline. The Egg Bowl is thrown in a sandy stoneware with delicate white freckles around the top and light slip detail. Unglazed, it's meant to hold eggs or keys or whatever else that might need a place to rest.

Jessie DuBois’ work explores the ephemeral nature of a landscape. Through texture, layers of slip, embracing kiln atmosphere, and the use of locally foraged wild clays, plant material, and wildfire ash, it is intended to honor and preserve a terrain which is ever shifting.
