Initially created to pass time, much like stacking stones, these beads became a nod to Dubois' grandmother and grandfather, who strung beads on their school bus that they lived on, as a means to save money to open their pottery school in Davenport, California.
These beads are individually hand formed, making it a slow and meditative process to complete each strand.
Each strand measures a 16.5” drop, or 33” around, and is strung on waxed cotton cord. Beads are sculpted from stoneware and fired in a reduction environment.
Can be layered, and worn or hung on a wall
