With inspiration drawn heavily from the California coast, each piece of J. Dubois' recent collection is a homage to the magic of its landscape. Embracing and honoring the natural, each piece is unique to itself, much like the rocks and landscapes of the western coastline. The Landscape Amphora is a wheel thrown vessel in iron rich stoneware with a exterior heavy texture, slip detail and handles. The exterior of each vase varies greatly depending on kiln atmosphere.
Approximately 8" tall
Jessie DuBois’ work explores the ephemeral nature of a landscape. Through texture, layers of slip, embracing kiln atmosphere, and the use of locally foraged wild clays, plant material, and wildfire ash, it is intended to honor and preserve a terrain which is ever shifting.
